IJE®

The ₦10,000,
explained.

It is a fair question, and about a third of people ask it. Here is the whole answer.

What it pays for

  • Reading every application and building a table of six who should actually enjoy each other.
  • Booking and holding the table, so six strangers are not standing outside a full restaurant on a Friday.
  • The deck of questions on the table, and a host who keeps the night moving.
  • Most of all, it is what makes people turn up. A free seat is the one nobody feels bad about skipping.

What it is not

  • It is not your food or your drinks. Those you pay for on the night, like any dinner out.
  • It is not a membership. One fee, one seat, one night.
  • It is not a dating fee. People come for different reasons and we never promise you any of them.

What a night actually costs you

Your seat at the table₦10,000
Food and drinks, on the night₦20,000 and up
Anything elseNothing

We tell you the restaurant three days before, so you can look at the menu and know what you are walking into.

The rest of it

What if I pay and then cannot make it?
Tell us more than 48 hours before and we refund you, or move you to another table. Your call. Inside 48 hours the seat is booked and the restaurant is expecting six people, so we cannot.
What if I hate it?
Tell us honestly afterwards. We read every word of it, and it changes who sits where next time.
Do I pay when I apply?
No. Applying is free. You only pay once we have found you a table and sent you the invite, and the seat is held for 24 hours.
Who is at the table?
Five people you have not met. You find out who when you sit down, and that is on purpose.
Apply for a seat

Applying is free and takes two minutes. Read the refund policy, the terms and the privacy policy.

Six people, one table, that’s it. See you there.
